Addie v Dumbreck [1929] AC 358 is a House of Lords decision regarding occupiers' liability and trespassers. This case is no longer good authority and has since been overruled by British Railway v Herrington.

Facts:Edit

A child four years of age snuck into a colliery and was crushed by the terminal wheel.

Judgment:Edit

The court held that the only duty owed to a trespasser is to not deliberately cause harm, this applied even to children.
